Player Development Stages
Every stage of a young person's journey presents an opportunity to learn, develop and grow. At Talanta Bora, our development approach evolves with each age group, building sporting ability alongside confidence, discipline, teamwork, life skills and personal wellbeing.
3 – 6 Year Olds
Discovery Phase
At this stage, learning happens through play, movement and exploration. We focus on developing fundamental skills such as balance, coordination, agility and body awareness while helping children build confidence, curiosity and a positive relationship with sport.
7 – 12 Year Olds
Foundation Phase
Children begin developing stronger sporting foundations through structured training and active participation. We focus on technical development, creativity, teamwork, discipline and understanding the basic principles of the game while encouraging confidence and enjoyment.
13 – 16 Year Olds
Youth Development Phase
As young people develop, training becomes more focused and purposeful. Participants deepen their technical and tactical understanding while developing discipline, decision-making, resilience, leadership and the confidence to take greater responsibility for their development.
17 – 21 Year Olds
Advanced Development Phase
This stage supports young people as they take greater ownership of their sporting and personal development. Training focuses on refining technical ability, tactical understanding, performance, discipline and decision-making while preparing participants for opportunities in competitive sport, education, leadership and life beyond the academy.
